Supervision, Consultation and Training

Current Offerings

Supervision and Consultation
with the Soft Landings Team

As therapists, frontline workers, and mental health advocates, our greatest assets are our humanity, our clinical skills, and the ongoing support we receive. We believe that the best way we can grow and sustain ourselves as clinicians is to remain in continual and meaningful clinical curiosity, and to understand how to best strengthen our own capacity to care for ourselves and others amidst the unique,

challenging, and rewarding work we do.

We offer clinical consultation and supervision for organizations, groups and individual clinicians looking to decrease burnout, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue while also building authentic and flexible confidence in their clinical skills. We also support those looking to build or expand their private practices. Clinically, we specialize in complex trauma, mindfulness, substance use, couples’ therapy, and queer experience. We can work with you on an individual or institutional level to create an increasingly sustainable, rewarding, and successful experience of working within the mental health field.

Please be in touch to inquire as to whether our services may be an appropriate fit for the support you are looking for.

Private Practice
Group Supervision

Those welcomed to participate will be working toward:

  • individual and/or couples’ clinical skills

  • best practices in the ethics and business of running a private practice

  • appropriately-boundaried peer support

  • keeping the very challenging and unique profession we are in sustainable for us as clinicians

Participants will need to commit to the group for the term (eight months total). The intention here is to build a consistent, safe, and skillful space to seek supervision and learn from one another’s cases and inquiries. After the group concludes, you are encouraged to transition out of my supervision and create your own peer-group together. It will also be possible to commit to the next term at that time should you like to, in which case we can do a review of your goals (clinical and professional), skills, and plans moving forwards if that is desirable for you.

The fee per group is $90. Participants will be able to receive reduced-rate individual supervision, as well as attend workshops and trainings hosted by Soft Landings Psychotherapy throughout the duration of the group.

This warm and contemplative group will leave you feeling more supported and confident in your role as a supervisor, and more clear on who and what you are interested in supervising.

The fee per group is $90. Participants will be able to receive reduced-rate individual supervision, as well as attend workshops and trainings hosted by Soft Landings Psychotherapy throughout the duration of the group. The duration of the group will be 12 weeks total.

Foundations and Explorations in Clinical Supervision (30 hr)

If you've been considering offering supervision, or feel a pull to hone your skills or solidify your understanding of the role and intricacies, this may be a nice fit for you.

The course will consist of 25 hours of course work and reflections at your own pace, in your own time, and five 60 minute live, virtual workshops (with varied learning styles held in mind). All workshops will be recorded and shared, and you are welcome to watch them at your own pace if you aren't able to join live.

You can expect:

  • independent reading of your own choosing (options provided, though you are welcome to veer)

  • teaching/discussion on the themes of supervisory roles, relevant legal considerations, ethics, business, and supervision philosophy

  • fulfilling the 30-hour course component necessary to supervise as an RP (though designations of all kinds are welcome and will find the material relevant).

Fees for the course fall on a sliding scale from $900 - $1800 + HST depending on your financial needs, and payment can be made in one or three instalments. Participants will also be able to receive reduced-rate individual consultation with Marlee Rubel, M.Ed RP, as well as attend workshops and trainings hosted by Soft Landings Psychotherapy throughout the duration of the group.
